How to read a proxy price list
Two proxy providers can quote very different headline prices for the same thing. The difference is almost always in what the number is a price of.
What is the unit?
Per IP, per GB, per port, per request. Convert everything to what you will actually consume. A per-IP price is only comparable to a per-GB price once you know how many gigabytes an address will carry for you.
What is the term?
A "from" price is often the longest term at the biggest order. Find the price for the term you want at the quantity you want. If the list shows only the cheapest corner, ask what the rest of the table is.
Where does the discount curve stop?
Some price ladders stop improving at a modest volume, so buying more buys nothing. Read to the last rung and note where it flattens.
What changes between the configurator and the receipt?
Add the options you need: location, carrier, traffic. Check the total again at the payment step. A price that moves between the two was never the price.
What are the rules?
Read the acceptable-use policy before you pay. A cheap price from a provider that bans accounts after the fact is not cheap.
