ASN
An autonomous system number: the identifier of a network that announces IP ranges on the internet.
Every internet provider and hosting company that routes its own address space has an ASN. Given an IP address you can look up the ASN that announces it, and the ASN tells you who runs that range.
Sites that classify traffic often use the ASN to decide whether an address looks like a home connection, a mobile carrier or a data centre.
